We'll mainly be practicing for our Trans-Am race tomorrow, but we'll probably get bored and do other stuff too.

Are you online now? I'll send out a club-wide invite and it should pop up in your inbox.

I'll just send you a FR and invite you manually, sometimes Forza eats invites.

So I don't have FP authorship, but I made a fun little thing that I wanted to share, and see if it warranted interest.

Wasn't sure if there was a way to PM via Kinja.

Dude that's a really cool idea. Message the mods and they might give you authorship since you actually have something to post about.

Really sorry about any connection problems you may have had man, this week was just a clusterfuck. If you get on Friday for our practice we can see who the best host is so you can race next week.

Its all good. I was benchmarking my r3 cars (stock tune, optimized upgrades for r3) for that potential r3 series we had been talking about. I just went back to doing that. I wanted to apologize for hitting one of the guys twice (i think) because it was competely unintentional but i can neither talk to nor hear anybody but you on the voice chat.

If it was a purple Mustang right before the chicane leading onto the front straight that was me, no biggie. Well I mean it kinda is, we really try and drive clean in this series and that kind of stuff really shouldn't be happening. Think of it as racing in real life, you avoid contact at all cost even if it loses you time. If you need practice driving in traffic just hop into a public online lobby, that'll really help.

And let me know if I need to open up some spots in the club garage so you can upload your cars and we can test them out after the next race or whenever.

I watched the replay from last week’s race and my thoughts are as follows. Absolutely none of this is personal and this is coming from a neutral, objective viewpoint.

Intentional or not, the driving I saw from you was nowhere near the kind of driving we want in these series. You were far, far too aggressive in overtaking as well as holding your line, both of which in multiple instances nearly took out other racers. A bit of contact is inevitable in these races but when you’re divebombing corners every other lap from from frankly absurd distances and slamming into someone else’s rear quarter every single time and nearly spinning them we start to have problems.

The only way these series will work is if everyone drives as cautiously and carefully as possible, and there’s a give and take to these races that’s unlike anything you’ll find in the public lobbies. You can’t just go for a Sunday drive and bounce off of other racers, it’s like racing in real life; you avoid contact at all costs, even if it screws up your own lap time, and you should do all you can to avoid interrupting someone else’s line or someone else’s race.

All that being said, I don’t think anything of what you did was intentionally malicious, which is why you’re welcome back at any of the next three races if you’re willing to change to a conservative, careful driving style.More than a few of our regulars were extremely pissed off so I’m putting myself out there by vouching for you, just know that if anything like last week happens again we reserve the right to disallow you from future races. Again, it’s not personal and anyone who drove like you did last week would be getting the same ultimatum, but there’s ten other people out on track and it’s not fair to them to have one rogue driver crashing into them every other turn. The entire point of these series is fun and having even one person drive like that spoils it for everyone else.

Here’s a very clear set of rules for racing with us. Follow them and you shouldn’t have any problems. Anything else just ask.

Thanks for your objectivity. I think you do a very good job with these races- im very glad to be a small part.

In retrospect i agree that i was racing quite aggressively and it was uncalled for. Part of it was being so close to the front and smelling a win. Regardless i shouldnt have driven so hard. I did try to hold my line to be as predictable as possible- if im holding my line im not being unpredictable. Then i read that etiquette article you shared- I hadnt seen that before so ill be adhering to that as much as possible going forward.

I don’t mean to cause any trouble or strife among everyone. Im not racing for points since i havent been at even close to half of the races so i guess theres really no reason for me to push my pace to an unreasonable level. IDK if ill be able to get on tomorrow but im gonna try for the Nurburgring- Its my favorite track.

As far as I’m concerned it’s water under the bridge and it may as well have never happened. Just come into the next race with a more conservative style and don’t cause any trouble and it should be the same for the rest of the field. There’s a pretty steep learning curve to racing online so it might be worth putting in some laps in public lobbies just for some practice; while the rules I shared cover a lot of the basic stuff, racing etiquette in our lobbies is just one of those things you can only learn from experience.
